Description

We’re an award-winning fleet operation and as we continue to move our vehicles and trucks into a new era of electric and alternative fuel, we need skilled technicians to keep them on the road as they deliver millions of items across the country, every day.  

On our Vehicle Technician apprenticeship scheme, you’ll get on-the-job training along with practical and immersive learning at Remit’s purpose-built Automotive Academy, all supported by Royal Mail Mentors, Specialist Trainers, and your fellow apprentice peers. From servicing and repairing vehicles to solving complex faults, you’ll gain all the skills and knowledge needed to become an expert, qualified Vehicle Technician.

Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Apprentice - Nationwide vacancies available, you will be asked to choose your preferred location on the next screen. 

As a HGV Technician Apprentice, you'll service and repair heavy goods vehicles, including trailers, working on all the systems within the vehicle. Day-to-day, you could be completing routine maintenance or solving complex faults using diagnostic methods and equipment, learning everything there is to know on the job.   

Vehicle Damage Panel Technician - North London only vacancies available. 

A Vehicle Damage Panel Technician works within the Collision Repair workshop, demonstrating expert working knowledge in relation to the removal, repair and replacement of vehicle body panels to vehicle manufacturer specification. As a technician you will follow a defined process, using your skills to correctly identify the different body panel types and have the ability to use the correct repair tools to carry out the work to the highest possible standard.

  • 39.5 hours per week with some opportunities for flexible working times varying between 7:30am and 6pm 

Your apprenticeship 

Whilst working towards an industry-recognised Level 3 qualification, you’ll learn through on-the-job training in your workshop and attend Remit’s Automotive Academy in Derby to complete practical and immersive learning workshops in their purpose-built Academy. Along with your cohort, across the 32-month programme, you’ll be required to visit the Academy on block release roughly every 12 weeks to learn everything you need to know about becoming a best-in-class Vehicle Technician. The costs of hotel accommodation, breakfast and dinner as well as travel are met by Royal Mail. You will also receive 1-2-1 support from your Development Coach.

You will need to be able to respond positively to coaching, guidance or instruction and be willing to undertaking different development opportunities. There may be times in this role when things do not go as planned, you will need to demonstrate the ability to maintain optimism and professionalism and adapt well to change.

Duration: 3 years 

Working Week: 39.5 hours Monday – Friday 

Eligibility: GCSE English, Maths & Science at grade 4 or C or above. For English and Math L2 Functional skills is an acceptable equivalent, however you will still require Science GCSE.
