Description

Kickstart a career in management with a fully funded Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6). On this three-year programme, you’ll work with a group of like-minded change makers as you lead teams, support projects and gain exposure that’ll set you up for success. The operational side of things at Royal Mail includes processing, delivery, and collections.  This opportunity works directly with our frontline processing operation, leading work areas and ensuring we connect our mail to time. You will gain an understanding of how our business works and become a trusted future manager.

As part of your role, you will

  • Be developed to lead our frontline colleagues to safely and efficiently deliver operational performance
  • Support the development of organisational strategies and plans. Develop and deliver plans; being able to set targets and KPIs, manage resources, and monitor and measure outcomes to establish effectiveness, efficiencies and excellence.
  • Produce reports that clearly present information and data, using a range of interpretation and analytical processes.
  • Plan, organise and manage resources in order to achieve organisational goals. Identify key outcomes, develop and implement plans and monitor progress. 
  • Proactively identify risk and create plans for their mitigation. Able to initiate, lead and drive change within the organisation, identifying barriers/challenges and how to overcome them.
  • Manage budgets, controlling expenditure and production of financial reports.
  • Use customer insight and analysis of data to determine and drive customer service outcomes and improve customer relationships.
  • Able to identify service/organisational improvements and opportunities for innovation and growth
  • Communicate regularly using oral, written and digital channels and platforms. Manage and chair meetings and clearly present actions and outcomes.

You will need to be resilient and determined, if you are driven and able to balance on the job learning with a fast-paced degree, bringing your learning into practice along the way then we want to hear from you.

You will need to be open and approachable to build trust with others. You will benefit from being part of a cohort of like-minded change makers and will need to be a team player to thrive as part of a large, supportive cohort.

You will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the organization and may be required to travel to other parts of the country.

Your apprenticeship

Our programme provides unique exposure and development opportunities to individuals who are at the start of their career to gain the skills, knowledge, and experience to kickstart a successful career in management. During the 3-year scheme, you will gain first-hand experience of leading projects, activities and operations and/or services whilst also being supported to complete a fully funded Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6).

You will gain first hand advice through guest speakers, mentors, and buddies on what makes a great professional manager and support to set yourself up for success.

Starting Salary: £22,500

Location: Dorset Mail Centre, Witney Road, POOLE, BH17 0AA

Eligibility: Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or higher (including Maths and English) and 3 A-Levels in any subject
