Description

Gain a 360 experience of our business functions. Develop the skills to become a great leader. On this three-year programme, you’ll build the foundations for a future career in management, with the opportunity to achieve a L7 or Masters equivalent apprenticeship along the way. From Operations to Commercial, Tech and more, you’ll spend rotations across Royal Mail’s infrastructure to learn our business inside out, as you lead, motivate and manage change across the nation. 

What you will be doing 

Our programme is all about developing your leadership skills, raising your strategic awareness, and showing you how to build the foundations for a great career in Senior Management. Over the three-year programme, you’ll work across functions to understand our business inside out. You’ll be involved in the delivery of key strategic and cross-functional projects, learning about the entire business giving you the opportunity to make a real difference in the organisation. 

This is a cross functional rotational programme where you would get to spend some time in different areas of the business. You would undertake 3 different rotations whilst on programme. Potential rotations might include Operations, Commercial, Parcelforce Worldwide, HR, Data & Tech, Finance, Legal, and Properties & Facilities. 

During the programme you will provided with an opportunity to undertake a fully funded Level 7 or masters equivalent apprenticeship. 

As part of your role, you will 

  • Lead on key strategic and cross functional projects by planning, organising, and managing resources to achieve goals 
  • Take responsibility for the development and implementation of organisational strategies and plans 
  • Problem solves by analysing causes and find appropriately solutions
  • Provide management information & updates to report progress
  • Manage budgets
  • Coach and develop individuals and teams to ensure they are full equipped and skilled to perform their roles
  • Support teams to achieve and maintain performance against key metrics
  • Establish ways of working focusing on maintaining/ improving performance, driving customer service, and improve customer relationships.
  • Lead on service/organisational improvements and opportunities for innovation and growth, maximising the use of technology & data
  • What you won’t be doing as part of your graduate role: having two days the same   

What we’re looking for 

You’ll be taking on a management role, leading people, and managing change around the country and will need to be confident, self-motivated, and resilient. You’ll lead and motivate your team to continuously improve performance against a range of performance measures you will therefore need to be a people person and thrive as part of a team.  

If you are a good communicator and believe you can build robust relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, we want to hear from you.  

You will need to enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a genuine desire to manage change while leading and coaching a team and thrive on challenges and get excited about influencing people.  

If you are strongly analytical and numerate, have an eye for detail this could be the role graduate programme for you.
